The Walking Dead Onslaught PC Review

I purchased the game on sale and didn’t think I’d get one of the best The Walking Dead games. It has A TON of serious and game-breaking bugs that will never be fixed, but the experience the game offers overpowers all the bugs. It’s very addicting and the combat is done right – the impact, the sounds, the animations, all of them are great.

I’d say this is a game made by fans for fans, it’s low budget, but the budget was well spent. I’m a huge fan of the franchise (watched all the episodes) and developers definitely respected the source material, it’s not a cashgrab.

BUT, about the bugs. First of all, when you play via Steam Link, it disconnects you every 5-10 minutes, leaving you vulnerable to zombies. Many times I died because of that, it’s VERY frustrating. Second, the left arm tends to get stuck in the air and you need to wait for it to get unstuck, also a frustrating experience, because you can grab items only using it. There are also zombies just disappearing or getting invincible.

Despite all that, I wanted to get back to the game every time, because the gameplay is that cool, both campaign and scavenging missions. The game succeeds in making you feel that dread of getting all the supplies fast while running from zombies and killing them, not getting hurt. The game has a big red line Horde that eats away the whole level and your task is to get as many supplies and get back to the base. By getting supplies and accepting new people you upgrade the base. Exactly what survival in the series was all about.

Definitely recommended not just to fans, but to those looking for a good zombie VR game.
