Lorain – Hentai 2D Platformer Game Review (Game Obscura)

Abysmal controls and level design, but an outstanding gallery. Seriously, the game is barely playable: it’s a 2D platformer with no controller support, and movement is locked to WASD with no option to rebind it (!!!). It feels as though it was made by someone left-handed who didn’t bother considering right-handed players. Maybe you can get used to the controls and even become ambidextrous (not necessarily a bad thing!), but the levels themselves are mazes that feel randomly generated.

Then the game hints that it wants to be a puzzle platformer, but the solutions are incredibly unclear. You end up wandering around the maze with no idea what to do. Other technical oddities include enemies stuck in rigid patterns and casually walking over spikes as if they weren’t there. Only the training level is translated; after that, the game reverts entirely to English with no explanation.

At the same time, the H-Animations are wonderful. The gallery is unlocked by default and offers many options: change an enemy, swap parts of your outfit, switch the music, alter the background, and more. The gallery alone is reason enough to check out this game, if only to see the tribadism scene with a gargoyle.

But even the gallery shares the same technical state as the rest of the game. In the lower-right corner, there are two buttons that simply say… “Button.” Yes, just two buttons literally labeled “Button.” It’s as if the author forgot to rename them or something.
