It looks like it was supposed to be more than just your average horror sequel and it has a drama plot line which deals with a heavy subject. This plot line is a main reason to watch the movie, plus for the main lead, she is a great actress.
The horror part is beyond stupid and overcliched. And the “monsters” (called just “evil spirits”) just really do “BO!!!” in the camera, like some children trying to scare each other on the night in the summer camp.
It also has some really awkward comedy elements for some reason and an abrupt sugary ending in spirit of Scooby-Doo episodes.
It looks like they made two versions of the credits sequence and they…used both. It looks awkward as well, but I understand why they wanted to show both since both of look great and interesting, especially the one before the final credits.
